The place and space that you lay out for your future will evolve over time. 

Know & Remember
It is first important to remember that you are destined for greatness.  There is a purpose on and for your life that is greater than anything you can imagine. The very next thing to remember is that you have to tap into your greatness.

Let’s face the fact, there are people in high places and others who are living out their lives in their own version of greatness and prosperity. So, why can’t you do the same thing?

Limitations are for small minds and greatness is for those who are willing to put in the work even when it’s difficult.

Personal Reflection
At one point in my life, I thought that living in a house meant that you are doing well. At another point in life, I thought that living in the suburbs was for high-class living. Now, I understand the depth of my mindset and the value is truly present in living in a home that you build through your own blood, sweat, and tears.

True Empowerment
The character that lives inside of you is connected to what you will become. Your greatness is in your hands, even when you aren’t thinking about it. Each day, you have a chance to make something great out of yourself, so don’t waste another moment in time.

We become successful in all that we aim to do when greatness lives inside of us.

There is absolutely nothing that you can fathom that is impossible without God at your side. You can dream, hope, envision, work hard, and plan, in full faith (when your heart is in the right place) because what you aim for will be granted to you. Ladies, you are not exempt; you have a treasure waiting for you, so do not grow weary. Persevere and you will see, step-by-step, that you are destined for greatness.

Think About It
With every step that we take in life, there is a lesson to be learned. Each person that we encounter in life has been set forth to provide us with something to be learned and applied to our lives. Every conversation that we have affects our mental space and how we evolve as people and leaders. 


How can we fully walk into our greatness and future prosperity if wisdom is not intact?


*Where Does Come From & How Can We Keep It?

  • Wisdom begins as a message
  • We take in the nuggets of information as seeds to plant in our mental gardens
  • We learn and grow by watering and nurturing those seeds
  • We evolve, transform and blossom because of each loving step in taking care of those seeds (messages)
  • Keep this wisdom by teaching others, sharing knowledge, growing into your destiny and purpose, and by gifting the world with your generated businesses and careers that come from that wisdom. When you learn you grow. Taking the time to understand the impact of that growth is so important because it opens opportunities for changes in your lifestyle and that of your family.

Reflection
When we can create a library of wisdom in our minds from planted seeds, we can reach and teach the world with what we learn, grow, and embody.

Wisdom intact is the way to create your future. Do not limit your learning. I love to learn, hence why I am committed to learning for life and I will soon be Dr. KayLa. Everything we learn contributes to the future of what we do in our careers and family lives.

V – Virtuous Identity

Think About It
For far too many people, it is easy to put on a show and make people see them for whoever they may be in one light.  Take a look at a platform like Instagram, people enjoy images of travel, children, nature, animals, and everything in between, but these things are only what people allow their viewers to see.  If you were to shed a light on your life and your actual identity, could people say that you are virtuous?


Turn off the show for the world and share your story and empower others; it may not be as exciting as other things, but I guarantee you that your virtue and dignity will not be eradicated.


Maybe it’s time to adjust your thoughts and get yourself out of your limiting bubble. Be wonderfully you! Be virtuous and dignified.


Do Your Work
Not at any point, should you aim for perfection or pretend to be something that you are not as that will only hinder your growth and opportunities.  In all things, it is important to be your true self and be willing to evolve and become someone greater than you already are. Your challenge here is to own your identity and keep a hold of your morals and values, regardless of what the world may deem as appropriate or fitting for you.


You know the person that is living inside of you, so don’t think you have to alter your heart or morals to make someone comfortable or appease the masses. Do not, under any circumstance, try to force your moral compass to change. If you feel like you are being a virtuous person and are doing the right things as you continue to evolve, your compass is guided you effectively.


Reflect
Growing in your business or in life (becoming “you 2.0”) does not mean that you have to change your virtuous identity. Honor who you are and believe that the goodness that lives inside of you will only improve your coming successes. If I would have changed myself and stopped being the loving person that I am, I could not be on this mission to empower and encourage others to become better and prosperous versions of themselves. Think about all that you have poured your heart into and how much those things have gifted the world. 


Own a virtuous identity and work hard in all that you do, and know that your hopes and dreams will become your truth and a gift to the world because you were simply being an amplified version of wonderful you.

It is a challenge to be a good person, but the payback is substantial both in fruit and in the transformation that you can see in the life of others because of the work that you do. Don’t forget to be virtuous when you reach success or see new opportunities. The values and morals that you hold to be true will help to guide you in your path if you pay attention. Keep your eyes open and follow a beautiful and blessed path.

Putting Yourself First

Doubt– When little voices creep in asking us if we are doing the right thing we decide if we listen or challenge them. Doubt can make us question absolutely everything that we do and break us down if we give in to any negative aspect that comes in. Putting ourselves first means that we have to be able to not only understand the doubts that arise but also be able to overcome them so that we can reach our highest potential.

Fear– the fear of what if…the fear of judgment…the fear of not reaching goals…
All of these are real (ask me how I know). I have dealt with fears in many aspects of life. It can be difficult to have a stronghold over fears, but it can be done. Strength in vision, self, faith, and direction are all necessary in trying to overcome embedded fears.

Worth– You’re value is not determined by the world. It is established by God and to be understood and upheld by you. When someone challenges that, it hurts, right? It can even make you feel like maybe you aren’t worth what you said you are worth. We cannot allow others’ opinions, blocked/biased views, or internal problems to shift our worth.

Am I Enough?
Yes, you are. You may not be perfect and you may not have become all that you are called to be in your life YET, but you are enough. We all have space to grow and evolve. No one came into this world having all the answers, thank goodness! You can use what you have inside to make the most of your present; you just have to look beyond the surface and take inventory. Let nothing cause you to change what you think of yourself. How you view yourself and carry yourself is how others will treat you, so be careful.

Why can’t we channel our success but we can be extreme givers for anyone else?
First…Not okay. You need to understand why you are doing what you are doing…so, here we go…

Write it all down!

Ask yourself what would happen if you put yourself first.
Look internally and decide if what you are doing for others is proof that you can do even greater things in your own life.

Why can’t we be busy with our own growth?
You can be. You first must choose to do so. It is hard to put myself first in many instances, but I realize that if I don’t I am only hindering my growth. We can find hundreds of other things to be doing besides evolving ourselves. Sure that may be okay in the temporary, but we will hurt ourselves and be depriving ourselves in the long run.

Without putting yourself first and making sure that you are healthy, safe, and positively evolving, those around you will in some way suffer.

You are wonderfully made and a gift to this world.

Discover and love yourself. Don’t let the world try to break God’s mold (you).

If you can dream it you can have it. Don’t cheat yourself.

You are destined for greatness, and there is nothing nor any outside person that can do something to make God’s promises on your life not come into fruition in the physical realm.

She knows very well that eating alone is a part of her journey. Even when she is into her success, that table should still not be filled as she knows that evil and negativity will still be lurking. Her independence and strength are internal to all that she is. She is courage. She is greatness. She is on her way to her destiny.
She is you.
She is me.

K – Know Your Weaknesses

In all things in your life, there are moments when you know exactly what you need to do to succeed and navigate through your life.

On the other hand, there are favorable characteristics or assets that you wish you had but they may not come naturally to you. In these moments, is when you need to be able to look inside of yourself and know what your real weaknesses are. None of us were born exactly the same and we all have something that we can learn from other people; so, it is important to learn from those areas that make us feel like we are not able to accomplish some goal.

Weaknesses can break us down if we keep our eyes glued to how they may be negatively impacting us. However, weaknesses are not meant to break us; they are meant to empower us and encourage us to continue to grow in our strengths and in areas in which we may not be as familiar. We must own the fact that none of us are perfect and we can never aim to be that. We must also realize that a “woe is me” mindset when we are not currently able to handle something, will not change a present situation.

I have a passion for all things related to public and global health. I also have a heart for survivors who are now thrivers after overcoming domestic violence. One of my greatest passions is in writing, however, I also love to train and help to evolve leaders. I know that there are things that do not come naturally to me like the “gift of gab” related to public speaking and social interaction as I am an introvert, but that does not mean that I cannot learn tips and tricks to relate to others at a deeper level outside of my comfort zone. (This is what true self-inventory can look like, so do this for yourself.)

When you know your weaknesses, you can grow from what may have been trying to hold you back.

We must choose a path and not let personal doubts, weakness, or lack of knowledge hold us back. If we wish to address weaknesses, we must first be mindful of their existence. Take time for yourself (you know that you deserve it) and write down what your weaknesses are and why they exist. After we become honest with ourselves, we can adjust our actions to shift in a positive light.

Ever heard of the phrase “Knowledge Empowers You”? Take the first letter of each word and realize that:
“You are the K.E.Y. to your evolution and your future.”

If God knows who we are and He can even hear the desires of our hearts, He will bless us as He sees fit. As you know, sitting at home and praying is not all that must be done; you must put in the work, plant the seeds, and watch as your gardens grow. God supplies needs, but you must also put in the effort. You must be mindful and aware of what is present in your life if you wish to address it all and overcome/work with your weaknesses.

D – Demonstrated Character

Who we are is displayed in all that we do, so it is important to know that the depth of the current version of yourself. Character is developed with time; social circles, family, spiritual beliefs, lifestyles and so much more are contributors to who we are as individuals. Something to be mindful of is the fact that just as positive things can shape our being and character, so can negative factors.

In many situations in life, I have been tested and even felt brokenness; it is not easy to climb out of that and hold strong to who I am but I know that it must be done time and time again. 

How do you challenge yourself to remain true and demonstrate integrity in a world that is in many ways scripted, objectifying, ego-centered, and filled with negativity? 


We must choose to be and live within our full greatness even when faced with an outpouring of negative circumstances; there is no other option.

Connect your character to your core, and your light and strength will never be diminished.


Your character is demonstrated in your work, how you communicate with others, and how you lead your life…so what are you saying is true to who you are? People of value and good spirit will believe what you are consistent in; they will crave and see you as inspiration and respected character. Proving your worth and true value is not always possible or warranted; remember there will be those who misjudge and do everything that they can to tarnish your good heart and character for their own joy or peace, so use that as inspiration to continue positively evolving and being magnificently you.

B – Being You

As unhealthy and confusing as it can be for some people, at one point or another every one of us goes through a phase when we question and eventually set our identity. Life, education, culture, background, beliefs, and experiences help to shape who we are. In all things, even as you evolve you must continue to be who you are at your core.

Life is tough enough; external judgment could cause a negative shift inf you allow it to. You hold the key to your truth, so don’t alter things for someone else’s comfort. Remain the you that you are designed and purposed to be. Only if a change is warranted or needed to improve your life should it be done.

People will see you as how and who you are if they want to. In truth, the only opinion that matters is yours. The only emotional/character judge that matters is not found in enemies or naysayers. Being you will earn you a seat at the table of prosperity.

In deep clarity, you find yourself.

Be amazingly you…no one else can do it.

Spiritual Reflection: None of us are the same. Not one person on this Earth is perfect. J- Jewels in Your Life

For every bad thing that you encounter or endured there is something beautiful to be seen or understood.


Lessons learned in life can be so difficult and I could never make light of anything that anyone faces, but I will say that there is a reason for your circumstances.


Whether we are talking about an abusive relationship that you have overcome, an amazing job that you have had your eye on, a love that you lost, or anything in between there is a lesson to be learned from each situation/circumstance.


I know that you have learned and know very well that all that glitters isn’t gold, but do you also know that there are jewels to be discovered and appreciated in your darkest of days and clearest of nights?


Everything that you go through has a meaning, you have to understand that the lesson no matter how difficult it may be to receive is a blessing for you.


I want you to think about these lessons as the jewels in your life. If this means that you have to put on your hypothetical rose colored glasses (only for a moment) to see the positivity in your situation, do it. 


Challenge yourself to take a journey through your mind, heart, body, and soul- give your situations, storms, circumstances a “full body scan” so to speak, and think about the why and work without giving up to understand the lesson.


When you wear your favorite accessory or piece of jewelry, you do so because it makes you feel a sense of happiness right? Shouldn’t your life’s lessons give you a sense of happiness after they have been learned?


Think about all of the things that make your life grand, beautiful, and worth living even when your heart is feeling heavy – this is easier said than done, but is very much worth it.


Take note and think about all of the jewels in your life: lessons, peace, happiness, family, kids, friends, education, successes, business, gifts and talents.

Proverbs 20:15
“There is gold and abundance of costly stones, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.” You don’t have to own jewels, gems, or stones to understand how gorgeous and precious they are. Your mind, body, and soul are precious jewels. Evolution of your mind is more precious than jewels; your knowledge is your life’s glimmering light.


The Universe gifts you with lessons, experiences, wisdom, knowledge, opportunities, and values to be appreciated. Each of which are grand, beautiful, and a wonderful part of your life. Take the time to understand this and be joyful in it.


Isaiah 62:3
“You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of God.” You are absolutely amazing and truly a jewel; your value and worth are high on the list my dear. Take a hint and work to bless your own life and all of those around you by wearing your jewels that life and God have given you.

Japanese Encephalitis
Symptoms: fever, headache, vomiting, weakness, possibility of movement disorders, and mental status changes.
Prevalence: less than one percent infected with the virus develop clinical illness (CDC)  Twenty to thirty percent of those who develop encephalitis die; 30-50% of survivors have continued cognitive, neurologic and psychiatric symptoms.
Prevention: a vaccine is recommended for those traveling to an endemic area and will be there for over a month or a shorter period if someone will be outside of an urban area.
Treatment: symptomatic- includes rest, fluids, pain reliever and fever reducing medication.

F- Fight The Good Fight

When the storms come and the rain falls it pours; you can get blinded by it all and feel like giving up (trust me, I know). 


On your journey of evolution or when seeking to become the best version of yourself, you need to know that the battle and the storms are worth it.


How can you think otherwise? 
How could you allow the bad to take over and then let everything shift into a negative space?
Why would want to? Because it is easier….? Because it will please someone else…?
Stop…now. Shake it all up.


Mental and physical health mean so much to not only you, but everyone around you.
When you think about battles that affect you, how do you handle them? 


You need to put your everything into all that you do no matter how hard it may seem or who may say something negative. Do you know why? Simply because you have to. You must dig deep, fight hard, and believe in something.


FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT!
If you are pushing for something, growing into yourself, revolutionizing your life, doing something new, etc. fight for it!


I promise you no matter what it is that you are fighting for, everything that you feel leading up to that moment of achievement matters.


The empty spaces, tear-filled eyes, lost voice, long nights, stressful papers, terrifying exams, closed doors, and everything in between is worth it.


Keep fighting!
Keep pushing!


Think about people all around the world and how so many people have to fight to have food, clean water, medicine, warmth, a doctor’s visit, etc. Now, think about yourself…what are you facing? Not to say that one problem is greater than another, but you are already blessed beyond measure and have so much to offer others even when the storms roll in.


If you don’t have that fight (will) inside of you, you will not get where you are trying to go.


If something has been placed on your heart, (some will to do good things), you owe it to yourself and the world to fight for it like you have never fought for anything before.


How you fight and what you are willing to put in says a lot about your character…shouldn’t you be showing yourself that you are worth fighting that good fight? Of course you should!!

Isaiah 1:17
“Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.” If your friend/neighbor/family member needs help fighting their fight, do whatever you can (within personally-set boundaries) to help them…this is what you are supposed to do. If you have the space or the platform to do good, even if it is as small as a call, post, speaking engagement, listing on an information board, do it! God sees that spark lingering inside of you and I promise you that if you do something with it, you will do so much good for the world. Do not give up now.


If it is your health that is ailing you or failing you, fight until you cannot fight anymore; ask for help if you need to/want to. Do not let anything stop you. 


If it is your business/school that is making you fearful, concerned, scared of change or anything else, remember that change is good; even if you can’t see that now, let me tell you that you will one day understand. No matter what don’t give up and don’t give in.


Believe me, God and/or the Universe are making a special place for you to do all that you are working toward activating.


Galatians 6:9
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” No one knows your reason nor your season except you and God, so keep it in your bubble if that is where you want to keep it-that is fine; sometimes it is best to keep things to yourself. Please, promise yourself that you are only keeping it to yourself for safe keeping, not to hide it and dim your light/opportunity to do something good.


Whether there is a shift in love, education, business, finances, growth, opportunities or anything

else please fight the good fight. Work with what you have an make a difference…because you can! I believe in you.


Fight the good fight, and don’t just do it for you, do it for me, your neighbor, your family, your community, and the world…we all need you.

***Health Spotlight*** Acute Flaccid Myelitis (CDC Research)
Symptoms: respiratory illness, fever, weakness and/or pain in legs or arms, changes in movement of eyes, drooping in face, difficulty swallowing or slurred speech. Respiratory failure is one of the most serious symptoms.
Prevalence: still considered a rare and serious illness but there has been a significant rise since 2014; mostly young children are affected, but adults can contract the disease. Less than 1-2 in a million children in the US will get AFM annually. There has been over 500 confirmed cases since 2014 (CDC).
Possible causes: viruses such as enteroviruses (poliovirus, enterovirusA71, and West Nile virus). Of course there is not a certainty about what causes the condition, but it is up to you as parents/family members to vaccinate your kids. Do not jump into the hype of non-vaccination, as you can very much be putting your child’s life in danger. Do real research, it matters. We didn’t come this far by ignoring sound research and healthy developments in medicine.
Prevention: Vaccination, protect against mosquito bites, get rid of stagnant water, wash your hands appropriately and often, avoid close contact with those that are ill.
Treatment: not one route of treatment; physicians may recommended physical therapy along with other treament options.


You must make the right choices and fight for the good fight when it comes to your health. You are responsible for most outcomes. You must do your reading/research via reputable sources, ask questions, and help others get access to the care that they need. We are not individuals walking around without deep knowledge/information at our fingertips. Pay attention and make the right (and wise) decisions for you, your family, everyone you and your kids come in contact with, and the world; we must all depend on and lean on one another.

E- Executing Personal Elegance

Divinely you were created and brought to this Earth. Divinely things occur and arrive in your life and that of everyone around you. Clearly this means that not only do you have a purpose but there is elegance and grace built into you.



Often the world and the media present false images that many follow and get caught into, but what does that mean for you. You are all that is presented to you, so don’t allow yourself to become something that you aren’t.



You may be surprised by how much things affect you by simply appearing in an image. Just as quickly as you read this blog, your thoughts are immediately deepening and shifting. Since you know that to be true, think about how other things pop up or present themselves online or in your personal life and may cause negative shifts in your thoughts.



You are of elegance, so you have to fight regularly to stay in that light and mentality.



If there is an element of negativity, you need to think twice about letting it stay in your presence. 



If something or someone is making you feel like you are unworthy of success, check yourself and look into that mirror again!



If you run into a space in your life where you feel like you aren’t pretty enough or talented enough, check yourself and remember your elegance and uniqueness.



Personal elegance is not determined nor maintained by the standards of others. 



Personal elegance is what you make it to be.



Uphold yourself to the highest of standards even when no one looking, so that when you present yourself you radiate light and pure happiness.



Personal elegance can be linked to all that you are. It means appearance, character, successes, happiness, love, peace, accomplishments and so much more.



For all of those images of false “perfection”, know that not all that people present is the truth of who they are from the inside out.



A pretty face, fancy clothes, and luxury living do not equate a happy heart or good character. As you observe the world around you check the meaning and think deeper. 



When you wake up, who are you?

When you talk to your friends who are you? What do you display?
When you embrace the presence of your loved ones, who are you?
When you are at work, who are you?
If all of these people are different, you may need to do some re-evaluation. You may not be executing your own personal elegance at the highest level.


Your truth and your elegance should be so apparent that they are presented and connected to your character/all that you are. 



Of course there will be negative people speaking against who you are…but let it be. If you are executing your personal elegance you are already being the best and no one can shake that.



Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
No one can tell you or show you who you are. You are in charge of becoming who you were created to be. There are so many wonderful things about you and even more great things that you can do to bless others. Never think that you are less than amazing, because it is simply not true.


Philippians 4:8

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.”
Think of all of the beautiful things about the world that we live in even when there is darkness presenting itself. 


Romans 12:2

“Do not conform to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” There are things far more important than outer appearance or false images of happiness, so be all that you present from the inside-out. Change your thoughts, your family and all that you will bless in your future depending on it.
