When you are panning through different areas of concern in your life or trying to understand how to get from one level to the next, one of the most important things to do is to see it all happening.
Start with a dream or vision and make it real by allowing it to come into reality within your mind.
You start a mental race inside of yourself when you first dream up anything that you want in life.
Just like anything else you have to put a strong focus on the effort and begin to work on it within your mind to make it all happen.
Teach yourself to meditate on whatever area that you are trying to grow into. I meditate with guided meditation and/or music to get in tune with myself, align my chakras, and grow into new spaces. You don’t have to do formal cross your legs and say “Ohm” meditating to get in tune; the most important aspect is to focus on one area of concern.
Not to sound cocky or anything, but some of the greatest answers can come from inside of you. You shouldn’t invite everyone to your mental table, because you may be served a dish that you cannot digest or that may bring you more harm than good.
When you invite people into your space it can be quite difficult to hear the truth and what you should do, as words of advice can biased, filled with judgment, or not helpful in your life.
What you zone into within yourself will contribute to whatever you are experiencing. To use myself as an example, I have had to sit with my thoughts about school and my future career; I know that only me and God can push the effort, so I talk to God in length at absolute minimum twice a day.
In prayer or meditation you go in seeking truth and answers; if you are truly listening beyond the realms of your heart and you become fervent in your practice you will receive direct and clear answers. Teach yourself to go from meditation or prayer warrior to conqueror and achiever.
One of my favorite things to do is step into nature and simply feel the air; this is another space for getting in tune with myself and spending alone time with God.
When you meditate to mediate you can reach answers and spaces that you could not have even imagined prior to entering that time.
Let’s talk a look at a couple of bible verses to truly reel this in.
Isaiah 26:3
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” If we live knowing that God is wanting us to train our mind, strengthen our focus and maintain clarity in what He wants us to do, why shouldn’t we be fixing our eyes on Him especially in prayer and meditation. Those times of silence/focus are a way of calling God directly as asking Him to speak to our hearts. In our silence we can hear clearly as we are free of distractions, and get closer to higher powers and/or more in tune with the Universal callings.
Psalms 49:3
“My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the meditation of my heart will give you understanding.” This is one of my favorite verses! If you are teaching yourself through reading, prayer, and wise counsel how to walk in your purpose giving God the glory all the way through, guess what will loosen-YOUR BLESSINGS! Meditation is a form of prayer, so take the time to make it a priority and do it regularly.
No matter what you are facing it is so important to see good things happening, encourage yourself through and through, and be thankful in the good and bad times. Remember that giants do fall! The enemy and/or the devil is lingering and wants to take over, so speak against that and fight for what you want. Wipe away your tears, pray, meditate and believe that God/the Universe is working in your favor. Meditate to mediate and watch how things start become as clear as ever.
Be blessed and be at peace.

Mental Health
Millions of people face and/or live with mental health concerns that affect their everyday lives. Whether it is you, a friend, loved one, or someone that you consider an acquaintance, it is important to understand exactly what they are facing and how it may be intertwined with their lives. Listen to concerns; mental health concerns are not always exposed in a physical sense, so be kind, respectful and understanding if someone you know is living with any type of mental condition. Be a good listener, do not laugh at someone because of how tough of a time that they may be having, and do whatever you can to help them. Help loved one find resources that can help them live their best lives and remember that mental health issues are a major concern that can be addressed at many levels. Let us all be there for each other, become well-educated on mental concerns, and support one another in whatever we may be facing. Meditate, seek help, and pray about what you may be facing and know that there are many people that care about you and will whatever they can to help you. I’m praying for you and I can give you guidance on where to turn if you need any time of health assistance.

L-Lament, Don’t Forever Linger
Lamenting can happen and be a part of many times in life, working to process any form of sorrow is the only way to see brighter days. I want you to understand and know that no matter how you feel when something truly tears at your heart that it is okay to express those emotions. You must allow yourself to cry, scream, and let it go at your own pace; no one can force you and no one can tell you that you are not allowed to experience emotions or feelings of lament.
Relationships
Whether we are speaking about a loss or a relationship (friend or family) that you must break away from, memories last a lifetime and no one can tell you how or when to heal. There is such beauty in connecting and bonding with someone that truly cares about you. Breaking away is never easy. I will pray for you and encourage you to do whatever you can to find your peace.
In grieving a deep loss, you know what you need to heal; you know if or when you want to talk, if or when you want to get out of the bed, with who or where you want to go. You will never just get over it, I know this from experience; don’t ever let anyone tell you that you have to move on. I know that your heart feels like it has literally left your body, and I am so sorry that you are hurting. I promise you that “better” and “easier” days are coming.
Inner Brokenness
No matter the source of what may have brought you to the space of brokenness that you may be in, a challenge is always finding the light or any space of positivity; it is okay to go through this patch of time. You are human and I get it; I have felt how are feeling before.
How it Feels to be Stuck
When to Move On and/or Move Forward
Your timing is your choice, however when something inside of you speaks and says that you need to move forward maybe you should listen. This does not mean that you erase everything, color your hair and change your name; it does not have to be that drastic. It can mean that you make one small change or one new effort to reclaim your happiness. You have to listen to your heart, mind, and soul.
Letting Go Is Freeing
“Letting Go” of your pain, as you see fit and in the way that you deserve can give you a freedom unlike any other. It is like taking the chains off that have been binding you. You will slowly but surely start to feel lighter; the weight of pain or sadness can be unbearable.
Lament is real and all of us experience it at some point in life, the challenge is always climbing out the rubble. I want you to own your emotions, allow yourself to feel whatever it is that you feel, but do what you can to not clutch onto that pain forever. Push through the pain when you can but promise yourself and show yourself that you deserve happiness and peace that you can only find within yourself.
Pray without ceasing; when you are experiencing lament, it is a time to cling to what you know best and that is the love of the Lord, your connection to whatever higher power, or your belief in the will of the Universe. God is always present and even when no one else can understand at the deepest level of your pain, He can and does; so ask Him to help you through it and to help guide you on the path to a new normal and a new realm of happiness.
Think of how many cried out in lament to God in the Bible…
Psalms 130:1-2
“Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; Lord hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.” Cry out to God. Pray out loud. Go into your prayer closet, no one can judge you on that. I promise that God will hear you and respond according to His will (in His way and time, not yours).
Jeremiah 15:18
“Why is my pain unending and my wound grievous and incurable? You are to me like a deceptive brook, like a spring that fails.” Many people have gone through a time of brokenness or loss of faith…some have even grown angry with God, but even those in Bible times quickly learned the reasons why God does what He does. They learned God teaches lessons, shapes paths, delivers, provides and protects – he will, has always, and is (right now) doing the same for you.
Even Jesus questioned God’s will and actions in the use of the words previously spoken by David (Psalms 22):
“My God, my God why have you forsaken me?” You are not the only one who wants to understand/be understood, wants guidance, and needs clarity – do not be ashamed to ask. He is your Father and he loves you.
You have been given three of examples of people that cried out to God, sought and answer, bore agony, saw loss, faced death and wars and felt immense pain. What you need to remember in your lament is that your pain will not last forever…you hold the key to your peace and happiness and God always saves.
Jeremiah 15:21
“I will save you from the hands of the wicked and deliver you from the grasp of the cruel.”
You see! God promises and shows that he cares and understands over and over again. If He has saved and cared for so many before, don’t you know that He is going to do the same for you?!
Your challenge is to pray, have faith, and try your best to find inner happiness; I don’t care what that looks like whether it is taking up piano, violin, or guitar lessons, joining a cycling class, or enjoying small moments of peace by painting via color by number…if it brings you true happiness and is healthy to your mind, body, and soul, please do it.
You are allowed to feel pain, you are allowed to take your time to understand what has happened or is happening, just don’t make or allow that pain (to) alter all that you are. You still deserve to have moments of happiness and to experience pure joy, right? So do what it takes to make that happen, when you are ready. Lament, pray, and do a happiness reach forward; don’t sit in alone forever my dear. Better days are truly coming, I promise.
Truly seek positivity and light, you won’t regret it.

B- Breaking Barriers
© KayLaN.Allen
If everything was meant to be easy, then everyone would have everything and probably still not be satisfied.
When you are faced with barriers, as always, you have two options: accept them as what they are and blow right through them and break them down.
When someone tells you no, that may just mean no in that space or with that person and that is okay.
Breaking down barriers is your right. You can have it all and I can guarantee that in the back of your mind you have thoughts about this. Check out Luke 13:7 if you need a reminder: “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
How many different people seem to be doing the same thing and are successful? You are special and what you have to offer gives you the key to unlock doors that no one else can access.
The challenge here is for you to remember that those barriers are perceived and not necessarily your reality.
Brokenness can teach us that we are only allowed to be in one space or able to do one thing and cannot go beyond that level. The trick is to re-train your thoughts.
How do you think people bring together ideas to bridge gaps? They use what they have, they collect their experiences, and keep pushing forward.
A closed door is not the end and in actuality it can be one of the greatest blessings that you could ever ask for.
What if your barriers weren’t there? Would you do things differently? Would there be a fire under you? Would you be happier? Would you even think about anything that could stop you?
I ask you all of those things to make you think differently. Why treat yourself as if those barriers matter? Who is stopping you from being happy in creating your success? Why can’t you create a new train of thought and shift the Universe’s process in helping things to come into fruition?
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
If you ask and allow God to travel with you on your journey everything will change, I promise you. It is the ideal version of strong faith being executed. If you are already putting in the effort to be an amazing version of yourself, those barriers that present themselves will continue to be broken down.
Psalms 119:105
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
You have the guidance that you need…are you listening? Are you paying attention? God is with you at every turn, do miss out because of that barrier that popped up. Fight because just beyond there, God has prepared something special for you.
1 Peter 4:1-4
“Be sober-minded, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
It is up to you to keep fighting for what you want. No one wants to be stuck in a place or space where they cannot grow. No matter what you have faced in your past you can change it all by believing in yourself. If you tell yourself that a barrier cannot be broken, you will not be granted opportunities for growth and success. Pay attention to your thoughts and actions; accept the light that is set forth for you and ignore any darkness that tries to seep in.
Treat barriers as though they are hurdles and jump as if your life depends on it…because it does. Taking the time to understand those barriers and not get swallowed by the pain of their appearance will save you tears, fears, and pain. It is not always easy to see past those feelings of sadness, anger, confusion, and frustration…but it can be done. Don’t cling to your pain fight through it and work to cope/overcome it; these barriers can seem like mountains, but do let them stifle your growth.
Put in the work, I promise you it will be worth it.
Be blessed and be at peace.

***Health Spotlight***Brucellosis– an infectious disease due to bacteria contracted from infected animals such as cattle pigs, dogs, and sheep.
Symptoms include: fever, malaise, headache, pain in muscles, and fatigue
Treatment: antibiotics after the infection is found by a physician; recovery time depends on the severity and death is rare.
Prevention: do not consume undercooked meat or unpasteurized dairy products; if you are a hunter or herdsman wear protective gear such as gloves, aprons, and rubber gloves.
You can break barriers in access to healthcare by the use of public health services; things are not perfect but from a future public health leader to you there are many people that deliver and are concerned about compassionate care. We all have the tools to help break barriers in access to care, it takes special people with unique gifts and talents collaborating for the greater good to evoke lasting change. Don’t believe me? Let’s talk about it. I will do whatever I can to help you.
Overcoming Situations & Facing Others’ Negativity
Making a choice to overcome vs coping is entirely up to you, but remember you must be prepared to face the outcome.
Being stuck in a situation, or simply feeling stuck, is never a healthy place to be. It will fog your mind, cause confusion, and bring on levels of stress unlike any other. (Ask me how I know…)
So, you’ve made the choice to overcome…what can you do with the negativity that may come your way because of it?
Oh yes sir and yes ma’am, there will be those who are out to rain on your parade, and those who want to make you feel bad for your choice to claim your power…but you must be ready.
Choose, in your mind, to stand firm in your decisions. If you have made the choice to overcome, you can make the choice to find happiness in your new journey.
Those directly attached to you may not understand your choice and they may not know your new walk…but guess what…it isn’t for them to understand.
You better be ready for whatever comes your way. Don’t be fearful, because you are never alone, and greatness is coming your way.
What Does It Mean To Overcome?
©KayLaN.Allen
You climb your mountain and miss a step, but catch yourself.
You drive your car in the rain and slide a bit, but you get back on track immediately.
You face your scars and remember that you are a beautiful product of your life experiences.
Overcoming means to:
Move beyond, gain control, or defeat something. This definition can be different for each person and in every situation. The key is to understand what it means to you.
A person can talk to you for hours about overcoming and not truly understand what it means to you.
The real definition is inside of yourself.
Maybe overcoming means taking back your power.
Maybe overcoming means getting out of a bad relationship for yourself and your family.
Maybe overcoming means that you learn to clearly see how the universe is working in your favor.
Maybe overcoming means that you step out of your comfort zone and into the realm that you are supposed to be in.
Maybe overcoming means getting control of the chaos in your life.
-Whatever it means to you, it is up to you to look deeper into what it would mean to make that change, overcome that battle, or climb that new hill.
Understanding what it means to overcome is how you can prepare to do it.
You find meaning and value in life and your journey by taking the time to truly look inside of yourself and allow change and evolution to occur.
Challenge yourself to take a moment and write down what is truly bothering you. This is the beginning of facing what is bringing problems to your life.
Job 8:7
“…Though your beginning was small, your latter will be great.” You may not be where you dream of being, but it is surely coming- it has been promised to you. The universe is in full-creation mode and is bringing opportunities your way that you did not know existed. God has a blessing and vision for your life.
Proverbs 2:12-15
“Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.” Taking the time to do the work, writing it all down, facing the problem and understanding what it means to overcome your storm is the first step in developing a new area of wisdom. This wisdom could be the key to your success or in finding true happiness within yourself. What would it mean to defeat the storm in your life?
Are you able to open the doors of promise and opportunity now? Do you still have some preparation to do? If you aren’t ready, that is okay for now…but you need to get ready. You need to stop just dealing with it and start preparing to change.
Now that you understand the basic meaning of overcoming, you are ready to learn to make it happen. Buckle up, it may be a bumpy ride.
Be blessed and be at peace.

Chickenpox can cause extreme problems for people of all ages. The virus that it is linked to it, VZV, can spread via touching, breathing in particles, and possibly through droplets. Getting the vaccine is the best protection; you can still get chickenpox but the severity will be decreased, you will have fewer blisters and less of a fever. It is essential that you do your part to take care of yourself and your family. Calamine and colloidal oatmeal baths are a go-to to relieve itching, and acetaminophen over-the-counter may help reduce fever as well. Although there has been a decline in the number of people with a VZV virus over the past two decades, it is still affecting over 3 million people a year according to the CDC. Seek the care of a physician or any medical provider; there is affordable care available.
Cope, Hide, Overcome, Run or Escape? (C.H.O.R.E.)
©KayLaN.Allen
So, you’ve had a bad day…
Your kids are driving you mad…
You’re feeling stuck…
You can’t answer the “what if” question….
Life is sending you on the roller coaster of your life…
No matter what storm you go through, you have options to choose from.
Each one will get you an end.
Each one will have a consequence.
Each one can take you out of your situation.
Which do you choose?
Will you cope, hide, overcome, run, or escape?
If the answer doesn’t come to you immediately, then you have some work and thinking to do.
No more crying, no more pity party, no more hiding.
Burdens that arise in our lives stress our minds, bodies, and spirits…look at the power that we can give those things. (Scary…)
In the midst of a breakdown in anything from your finances to your spirit, you must make the choice to cope with what happened, run, escape, and overcome…hiding and sitting on your butt whining and complaining will only give you more of the same. No matter the choice you make, be sure that you are prepared to live with the outcome.
You need to shape your mind, evolve your thinking, and make a decision sooner than later…because little do you know you are affecting everyone around you while you live in that storm. You are causing pain and destruction to yourself and your future; you deserve clarity, peace, and happiness…so choose wisely.
Though the pressure may seem high, you have to do your C.H.O.R.E. If you need support or somewhere to turn, I promise it is much closer than you think. You have friends, love, and family (even those who aren’t related) that care about you…I PROMISE. I care 100% and I am here for you.
You must be willing to do the work. Are you ready?
Getting beyond your circumstances will start in the mind. You have to step out of your element to see beyond the fire in your eyes or the flame circling your situation.
John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” God can deliver you from your circumstances if and only if you believe, and if you put in the REQUIRED effort. Things will not change on their own nor will they magically disappear. You can have the peace that you desire, but it may take time.
Please, know that you are not the only one dealing with a tough time; also know that you can are the master of your life. It is okay to choose to cope with your situation if it the best thing for you and/or your family; you have to step back and answer the question on your own, no one else can make that decision for you. Be wise, think, and weigh your option; comb through your situations with a fine tooth comb.
1 Peter 3:9-11
“Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.”
I know that you may have a deep hurt inside of yourself because of something that someone else said or did, and yes you should stand up for yourself. Remember this though, you need to do what you can to mend the situation; in every other area simply be kind- no matter how difficult that may be.
To briefly cover a powerful conversation that included the Dalai Lama- He said that if you are living with anger/negativity inside of yourself that is selfishness; you must realize that what you are seeing is simply that and nothing more- it is not really what is happening. You have to be able to look deeper at your situation and inside of yourself to make changes and evolve from your current position.
It is time to take drastic measures. Shape it up and shake it off; push for change and try your best not to question your decision after it has been made.
Though challenges may present themselves, you must make a healthy choice. The words you speak, the choices you make, and the space that you reside in affect your life in every way.
Be blessed and be at peace.

Z-Zest
©KayLaN.Allen
If you combine your passion, your appetite for success, spirit, and fire inside of you and that is your zest.
What puts that light in your eyes? What fuels your flame? What drives your energy? What makes your heart happy? What seemingly makes your forget/overcome your struggles in you life?
Be Zesty (“lively and pleasing”).
Let’s say that there are 1000 other people going for the same job that you are going for…would you walk into your interview knowing that you are just another applicant? No, don’t do that. Sparkle, glisten, and show your passion because that will make you stand out.
God gave you gifts and talents; He gave you something that no one else has. He gave you a zest for what you are passionate about. Dark days and those who are against you do not matter.
Be active and energetic every day, no matter what happens and you’ll realize that you have so much to be thankful for. For those who choose to sit in sorrow, they will feel that everything is going wrong and nothing will ever change. If you encounter that person, let them know that two things that are guaranteed are the passing of time and change.
As much as we would like to control every part of our days, it is not always that easy. We do have the option to be full of zest and we do have the option to change the outcome of our days.
If you are feeling sad or discouraged, know that your zest in life is still connected to your heart and mind. The universe is constantly at work for you; be happy in every moment, as best as you possibly can- it is worth it. God knows and sees your dreams and He is shaping your path, be full of zest and be prepared for all of the good that is coming your way.
You see, as we challenge what seems likely to break us down we reveal zest for whatever our heart desires. If you are feeling stuck in a box because of your finances and you want to make a change, but that change requires finances, you need to change your thinking and take every step with a breath of zest.
There is not always going to be a door open for you, sometimes you have to build your own door and push it open.
A painting of clouds could seem dreary and boring, but if you add flowers, sunshine, and children playing you reveal happiness and zest…the same can be applied to your life.
Be enthusiastic and full of zest in all that you do and dream of. Your drive, compassion, vigor, and light inside of you are all that you need to succeed.
Mark 9:50
“Salt is a good thing; but if it has lost its zest, how can it be seasoned again? You should have salt within yourselves and peace with one another.” Be fervent in your beliefs, never lose sight of your dreams, and be filled with a zest for life. Work diligently to find peace within yourself and gain a high-spirit in life. Seek peace with others, one moment in anger is a moment that could be spent in resolution, clarity, and happiness; fix it, for you and those you love.
Romans 5:5
“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” You must allow yourself to be filled with hope and joy in order to ready to receive all that has been promised to you by God. The universe reacts to what you are putting out in feeling and thought, so you need to live as though you have already manifested what you want in your life.
Have a complete zest for life and you will change the way that the see the world, and the way that things turn out.

Zoonotic Diseases: These infections link humans and animals. Although people come in close contact with their pets on a regular basis, there are germs/bacteria that can be carried by animals. Approximately 6 out of 10 infectious diseases are spread via animals. Thousands of people, annually, will get sick because of germs spread between humans and animals (CDC). Germs can be spread from direct contact, indirect contact, via an insect, or from contaminated food. Children under 5, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of a zoonotic disease. Prevention tips include: proper hand washing, staying safe around pets, prevent mosquito, tick and flea bites, safe food handling, and avoiding scratches or bites from animals. Depending on the type of disease, the incubation period can vary from hours to weeks and the symptoms vary, as well. Use your medical support system, they care and so do I.

Y-Yearn
©KayLaN.Allen
Struggles and storms mean next to nothing if your heart and mind yearn for nothing better and nothing more.
You yearn for what you want and what you deserve; that is directly connected to all you are.
If something shakes your drive or your climb to reach your goal, then maybe you push isn’t strong enough, you need to change some aspect, or you need to rehabilitate your mind.
Sure, we all have our struggles; even those who seem like they have it all may have had to claw their way up to the level that they have reached. Even celebrities experience difficulties in their lives; no one is perfect.
To yearn is go beyond a want or desire, it is essentially craving something with extreme determination; it is knowing and feeling that nothing can block you from reaching a goal/dream.
If you are a person that is walking around hoping and wishing, you aren’t doing enough. Cut the talk and start the walk.
If you have any dream of becoming successful, you have to yearn for it so much that every step up the ladder becomes a part of every fiber of your being.
You need to wake up with positive thoughts, envisioning yourself and every detail of your goals. You need to take steps every day and make a fervent effort to be prosperous in all that you do. Go to sleep thankful for all that you have accomplished, all that you want for your life, and the blessings all around you.
You need to feel that happiness. You need to be willing to fight for it. You have to taste it with every breath that you take.
What is the part of your vision of success that makes you want it so badly? Is it the abundance in life? Is it the ability to change the world? Is it the joy that takes over you when you learn more and more about it? Take all of those thoughts and feelings and embed them into your heart- that is yearning.
There will be those who don’t believe in you, lie about you, shut doors in your face, and try to speak evil into your life…but they can’t affect you unless you let them.
Whatever you dream to be or dream to have, do it to the best of your ability. If you want to be a stylist, a doctor, a singer/songwriter, an artist, a fashion designer, a plumber, an electrician, an astronaut…whatever, it does not matter and it will not happen if you are not putting in an effort and you do not yearn to have what you dream come into your reality.
Whatever you yearn and strive for, you can have. What are you waiting for?
Need some motivation? Here you go. For every moment that you are wasting, someone else is building and shaping their future; use your time wisely. The longer you wait, the longer someone else has to wait for your blessing to reach them. Be hopeful.
Romans 15:13
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Be prayerful and also know that the Universe and God have favor on your life. When you are able to be in-tune with your subconscious you can make things that seem like miracles occur via frequent thoughts, visions, and meditation. The hope that lives inside of you is not in vain, if you are craving your goals.
Ephesians 1:18
“Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.”
God has given you all that you could ever want, it is living inside of you…make the most of all that you have been blessed with. You have been put together like a unique puzzle of amazing and perfect pieces; your puzzle pieces are your gifts and talents which make a beautiful picture and bring forth magnificent blessings.
I dream of a world where we all reach our goals, surpass them and live in peace, great health and prosperity. I believe in you, I’ll always encourage you to do great things, and I care about your success; surround yourself with people who feel the same way.

This is an infection that affects over 100,000 people in the U.S. annually (CDC). Symptoms appear between 4-7 days after exposure to the bacteria, and they can be similar to that of appendicitis. Prevention: cook pork and all foods to an appropriate temperature, practice proper hand washing, and use separate cutting boards. Special testing is needed for diagnosing, and it typically goes away on its own or with antibiotics if someone has a severe infection (CDC). As always, if something doesn’t feel right, seek medical attention. Take good care of yourself and your family.
Be blessed and be at peace.

Uproot- to remove or pull up by the roots
I often tell people that they need to get unstuck from their situation and to not become “stuck on stupid”…let’s address what they means and how you can do it, as well.
Often we see ourselves or people we love get “stuck” in a relationship, “stuck” at a job we may not like, “stuck” living in a place that is not ideal, etc. What I want you to ask yourself is are you/they really stuck? The answer is no.
Everyday we make a choice to do things, stay in a relationship, stay at a job, keep living in a certain place, etc. It is your decision to be in the situation that you are in. You have the opportunity to get out of your “dry place”.
UPROOT YOURSELF!
No one will walk around carrying a basket of happiness, promises, and money…you must chose to get out, remove yourself, better yourself and make a change. No it will not be easy.
If you have ever been abused in any form, you know that it can seem impossible to leave, but it can be done. Talk to someone who can understand and will not judge you. Gain your strength and uproot your heart from one of the highest levels of mental and physical toxicity. Uproot your mind from pain, torture, destruction, confusion, and misery; you deserve better than what you are facing every day and you know it.
If you have ever stayed at a job just because you need a paycheck and to pay your bills, you know how miserable every day can be. Use your “extra” time or make “extra” time and re-shape your life to build a life and career that you love and are proud of. No, it will not happen overnight. No, there will not always be someone that can help you financially, watch your kids, or calm you down when those night/weekend/3 week courses seem to make you feel overwhelmed…but it can be done. If you know that you deserve more out of a job (like, a career that you love), then do what it takes to make it happen. God and the universe will make a way if only you put in the effort and speak out loud that you need help; express what you want, what you need, and what you are doing to make it happen. Live in that feeling of completion and gained success; if you feel it, envision it, and belief it…so it will be. Uproot yourself from that job that is subjecting you to discrimination, low pay, no opportunities to advance, etc. If you want success, go get it!
If you find yourself still living in the same place/area that you came from and you are happy about that, that is okay only if it is an area that you have found success, abundance and prosperity in (for yourself). If it is not all that you have ever wanted, then what are you doing to yourself and your family? Are you really proud of yourself for not rising up and evolving? You need to give yourself a reality check, if you are. You are blessed beyond measure and have new opportunities granted to you every morning. If you are satisfied with mediocrity and not evolving then you are denying your chance at success, an abundant life, and happiness in seeing yourself reach all of your goals. Shake those small thoughts off and start thinking bigger.
If you are someone who is confused or you think that you may need to be uprooted, please know that someone who really cares about you will tell you the truth even when you do not want to hear it. I would much rather serve you a freezing bowl of the cold hard truth that watch you cry buckets of tears or live in years of disappointment or misery.
Proverbs 4: 23
“Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.”
If you think that you have reached as high as you can in your life, you will receive nothing more. If you change your thinking and uproot yourself from what confines/binds you, you will attain more.
The thoughts and words that you think or say are put out into the universe…so be careful.
God did not promise you a life of pain. Here’s a few things that He did promise:
Nothing will separate you from God’s love. Psalms 8:38-39
He made you intentionally and knows you intimately. Psalms 139-13-14
He has plans of prosperity and hope attached to your life. Jeremiah 29:11
You are favored. Psalms 5:12
You can do ALL things. Philipians 4:13
Come out of your dry place… stand on God’s promises and all that the universe can provide to you by uprooting your mind from it’s current state.
Be blessed and be at peace.

S- Senses
©KayLaN.Allen
*Proverbs 2:2*
If you have ever sat back and questioned the voices in your head, you have sensed a higher purpose.
If you have ever longed for something different, you have sensed the need for evolution/transformation.
If you have ever looked in the mirror and did not like what you perceived as a flaw, you have sensed the need to live a healthy life.
If you have ever cried in the middle of the night or lost needed sleep, you have sensed the need to change or to find answers to unanswered questions.
If you have ever felt unfulfilled, you have sensed the need for a new path or a change in scenery.
If you have ever felt that something just wasn’t right…it is time to stop ignoring your good sense and senses to changes, and appreciate what your subconscious/God/the universe is speaking to you.
If you can acknowledge your senses, then you can acknowledge what you need to do for your personal growth, career, and your family.
It is time to use what you see, hear, feel, think, and know to gathered what is called common sense and become a better you.
Remember this: Common sense is not so common, if it was everyone would have it.
1 Corinthians 15:33
“Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.””
Be mindful of the company that you keep, as they can help you ignore that which your soul, spirit, and mind are trying to tell/teach you. If you know that someone around you is hurting you, distracting you, blocking you from reaching your potential…cut the weeds! Have enough sense to know who is good for you and who is wreaking havoc on your life.
Stop THINKing that you know everything.
Stop thinking that things will get better on their own.
Don’t be blinded by what the world, your peers, your colleagues or what your family is feeding you.
Stop FEELing that what “he” or “she” has or is doing is for you or not for you.
What you see can make or break you; be wise enough to feel what your heart and mind are telling you, and know the difference. If you feel that you can make a change or get to the next level, don’t just imagine and daydream about it- be about it!
Stop SEEing others rise in success and stop sitting back and complaining about how you wish it was you. Stop seeing growth in others and stop thinking negatively about it. You are making decisions in every moment to seize the day or put a new dent in your couch and whine about what you don’t have or how the world is against you.
Stop simply using your ears to HEAR and start listening to advice, words of wisdom, the universe’s messages, and what those voices in your mind are telling you.
Proverbs 28:26
“Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.”
You do not know everything. In fact, everyone and everything in your life is meant to teach you something; take off your blinders. Allow your senses to open and be receptive enough to receive information that will help you transform your life.
Do you have enough sense to stop trying and start doing? If you haven’t in the past, now is the time to make your life worth living.
Everything that want, you can have if you put in the effort and stop denying yourself greatness.
Close your eyes and count to 10. Now open them, do you feel a sense of relief or clarity. Do you see beauty and feel the heartbeat of everything around you? Do you hear every sound of quiet or noise in its entirety? Your senses can help guide your path. If simply closing your eyes can make you pay attention to you senses, imagine what would happen if you took the time to do that same thing every day. If you envisioned what you really want in the form of a vision or in meditation (regularly/daily)…you would change your world.
Tell whatever that is ailing you that it is no longer welcome, then makes some changes; don’t ignore your senses.
God hear, sees, knows, and feels all. The universe is in tune with you. If you are shaping your life and acknowledging your purpose and your senses, then your life will be a blessing to the world around you.
Nobody needs to come and pat you on your back every 5 seconds to remind you of your achievements or your successes. Pay attention to those who really support you and care about you; they have been put in your life (with no negative attachments) for a reason. Do not become blind to your blessings.
Remember: your senses are there to make you aware and appreciative of what you are given/blessed with. Be in tune with yourself, but do not become “stuck on stupid”.
“Always let your conscience be your guide.” Jiminy Cricket
You may not always make the best decisions, but as long as you are trying and being the best and kindest person that you can be, you are on the right track.

If your body is giving you signs or making you sense that something is wrong, do not ignore that. Your body will tell you if you are lacking vitamins, needing hydration, or need to address underlying issues that are invisible to the eye. If we take the time to acknowledge that our physical body is just as important as every other aspect of our lives, we can lead a healthier, longer life. Don’t make excuses, go to the doctor. It is better/easier to be prepared and practice prevention methods than it is to treat illnesses. Take care of yourself. Many people love you and need you, including me.
Be blessed and be at peace.
