D-Diving in Head First

©KayLaN.Allen

If you have ever jumped in a pool, you definitely know how necessary it is to be prepared to hold your breath and go for it in a flash.

Thinking about how this may work in life is quite interesting.

We all have different hopes and dreams, but where would we be if we did not hold back the fears/doubts and would just dive in?

It can be difficult for many to do this because they are afraid of the outcome. Still others may not be able to go for their dreams in a flash because the timing simply isn’t right.

What if you didn’t think about all of the possible outcomes and you did whatever you could to focus on the best one?
What if you were able to ignore any thoughts of failure?

Let’s prep first…
With anything that you want in life or that you dream of you must start with a vision/dream.

Get creative and put that vision on paper, I know that I love to see my vision and dreams in front of me so vision boards and affirmations are a significant part of my life.

When you can see it, you can further believe that it will be and already is true.

After you can see it on paper, then you need to plan things out. Ask yourself and in a timely fashion get answers to how you can make things happen.

Make a logical plan internally, only then can you fully execute your mission.

Step by step and piece by piece you are preparing for the greatest dive of your life. How does it feel? You ought to feel amazing and empowered.

For every moment that you choose to sit back hoping that something will happen magically, there is someone else with the same original thought that is pushing and pushing forward and getting where you may be still simply dreaming of.

Now that you know how to prep for your dive, let’s think about the why…

Belief in yourself is an internal action that can be released into the external world through your actions and practiced faith. If you exercise that belief and create actions that are attainable, then everything changes for the better.

Why should you prepare for a dive into your highest goals/dreams? Simply because you deserve it and it is the only way that anything will come into fruition.

Even if that dive seems deep and the current is against you, you have got to keep fighting and maintain your breath. Work in your own favor.

Job 12:10 “The life of every living thing is in His hand, as well as the breath of all mankind”. If we can hold firm to the fact that God literally has everything in His hands, can’t we rest assured that our future and our present are covered and blessed according to His will? The Universe is working in your favor, so be mindful of what you do and/or don’t put into your life (in thought or physical action).

Psalms 56:3
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you”. Even if one step on your journey may seem too big or very scary, trust that everything will turn out just fine. Trust in God, trust in yourself and believe (from the beginning and during the tough days) that all will be amazing. Creating shifts in the Universe means that you release the negativity and create better thoughts.

Every day there is a new lesson to be learned, so why not use those lessons to become fully prepared for your life’s big dive?

Push your own limits and challenge yourself to be the best at everything you do, you deserve that and so much more.

I believe in you, do you?
Are you ready to take that dive? If not, get ready…time waits for no one.

Be blessed and be at peace.

Diphtheria (an infection)
Symptoms: Weakness, sore throat, fever, swollen neck glands, gray coating in throat/nose, breathing difficulties; potential for damage to heart, kidneys, and nerves also exist. (CDC)
PreventionVaccination is recommended; it was once a major cause of illness and death in children, so be mindful of what people can face without vaccination and attempting to prevent disease/infection.
Treatment: Physicians can swab the throat to test for the presence of bacteria that causes Diphtheria. An antitoxin/antibiotics are used to stop the poison and to kill/get rid of the bacteria, respectively. Treatment does not mean that all are saved, though.
Prevalence: Even with treatment 1 in 10 die from Diphtheria. In some countries there are upwards of 700 people cases in a year; even though there are very few reports in the US, it is very necessary to protect yourself as best as possible. WHO
Public Health Connection: Because Diphtheria is spread through droplets from coughing or sneezing, it can easy be transmitted to others. A person can also get Diphtheria from touching a object (like a toy) that has the bacteria on it. Be mindful of everything that you/your children come in contact with. Seek a physician if you are ill; do not wait, try to find out about what you are experiencing by using the internet, or try to self-medicate. There are many inexpensive clinics that you may have access to. Work hard to protect yourselves and your family. Practice proper hygiene and proper sneezing/coughing techniques- do so in your elbow, not your hands. Dive into being mindful about your health and that of your family; you can’t live your best life if you are not taking care of your physical health.

C-Chasing Away Personal Monsters

©KayLaN.Allen

Your monsters come in every shape and form. Monsters big or small can wreak havoc, throw stones at you, break your pride, and dim your light…..if you let them.

When you grow into your strengths, live in your purpose, and push to become that which you are called to be even the biggest of monsters can be chased away.

For some, their monsters are people
…these people have caused pain, brokenness, confusion, frustration, and loss of self. These people are essentially spirit-breakers; when they find the space and place to bring on the pain and heartbreak they lay it on hard.

The challenge for you is to see beyond your tears and not allow those pain-evoking people to crush you from the inside-out. Do not allow these people into your circle and certainly do not allow anyone to stay in your life should they exhibit ugliness, evil, or any type of negativity. Stand up, shine your light, and chase away those who do not belong with you on your journey.

For others, their monsters may be things/places
…these things are what you truly have control over at every moment. Whether your monster in this sense is a habit that is hard to break, a place that you need to grow apart from, or a space that is no longer serving you as it should- you have got to pay attention and do whatever it takes to chase away this monster.

Even still another type of monster can be your emotions. You are most definitely entitled to your emotions and no one can take them away from you or force you to feel differently. The most important thing with this type of monster is to not allow it to take over your life. Emotions change according to environment and many other things around you. No matter how much this monster tries to chase and/or tackle you, you have got to keep pushing forward.

2 Peter 1:5-9
“For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.” No matter what you face, there is a way to cover it in love and prosperity. Chasing away your monsters does something that is so important and that is: give you more space to grow, be happy, and be at peace.

Clutter of your monsters must be cleaned up so that you can welcome what is going to bless your lives. The Universe brings forth more of what you put into it; if you are welcoming and/or allowing the negative to stay you are hurting yourself, all around you, and your chance for opportunities.

Proverbs 12:16
“Fools shows their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.” If your monsters hurt you, you have to do what works best for you and get rid of them. This doesn’t mean that you fight fire with fire; you will receive a blessing unlike any other if you are kind (with your strength and voice intact).

As you know, and I have said several times before, nothing is life is easy and it shouldn’t be. Think about how much stronger you would be if you chased away your monsters. Think about the power and the fire inside of you that will only grow when that place, space, or thing no longer belongs in your are gone.

Don’t you deserve a beautiful smile on your face and to live in happiness and peace?

Don’t you deserve success in life?

Don’t you deserve all that you imagine and beyond?

…Of course you do!

Take the time to learn about your monsters and do what it takes to chase them completely out of the scene. You deserve that!

Be blessed and be at peace.

B- Breaking Barriers

© KayLaN.Allen

If everything was meant to be easy, then everyone would have everything and probably still not be satisfied.

When you are faced with barriers, as always, you have two options: accept them as what they are and blow right through them and break them down.

When someone tells you no, that may just mean no in that space or with that person and that is okay.

Breaking down barriers is your right. You can have it all and I can guarantee that in the back of your mind you have thoughts about this. Check out Luke 13:7 if you need a reminder: “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

How many different people seem to be doing the same thing and are successful? You are special and what you have to offer gives you the key to unlock doors that no one else can access.

The challenge here is for you to remember that those barriers are perceived and not necessarily your reality.

Brokenness can teach us that we are only allowed to be in one space or able to do one thing and cannot go beyond that level. The trick is to re-train your thoughts.

How do you think people bring together ideas to bridge gaps? They use what they have, they collect their experiences, and keep pushing forward.

A closed door is not the end and in actuality it can be one of the greatest blessings that you could ever ask for.

What if your barriers weren’t there? Would you do things differently? Would there be a fire under you? Would you be happier? Would you even think about anything that could stop you?

I ask you all of those things to make you think differently. Why treat yourself as if those barriers matter? Who is stopping you from being happy in creating your success? Why can’t you create a new train of thought and shift the Universe’s process in helping things to come into fruition?

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
If you ask and allow God to travel with you on your journey everything will change, I promise you. It is the ideal version of strong faith being executed. If you are already putting in the effort to be an amazing version of yourself, those barriers that present themselves will continue to be broken down.

Psalms 119:105
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
You have the guidance that you need…are you listening? Are you paying attention? God is with you at every turn, do miss out because of that barrier that popped up. Fight because just beyond there, God has prepared something special for you.

1 Peter 4:1-4
“Be sober-minded, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
It is up to you to keep fighting for what you want. No one wants to be stuck in a place or space where they cannot grow. No matter what you have faced in your past you can change it all by believing in yourself. If you tell yourself that a barrier cannot be broken, you will not be granted opportunities for growth and success. Pay attention to your thoughts and actions; accept the light that is set forth for you and ignore any darkness that tries to seep in.

Treat barriers as though they are hurdles and jump as if your life depends on it…because it does. Taking the time to understand those barriers and not get swallowed by the pain of their appearance will save you tears, fears, and pain. It is not always easy to see past those feelings of sadness, anger, confusion, and frustration…but it can be done. Don’t cling to your pain fight through it and work to cope/overcome it; these barriers can seem like mountains, but do let them stifle your growth.

Put in the work, I promise you it will be worth it.

Be blessed and be at peace.

A – Allowing Life to Happen

©KayLaN.Allen

We often get caught up in our own webs, visions, and plans; becoming  entangled in these spaces is not necessarily a good thing.  When we choose to think about a path that we have set forth for ourselves, we subconsciously block opportunities for other (better for us) outcomes to come forth.

Rolling through the “if I could”, and “I wish I could” phases in our lives can blind us and bring shadows in front of us.  When this happens we can not see some of the amazing things that are happening right in front of our faces.

As difficult as it may seem, sometimes you just have to allow life to happen. Those difficult times that we encounter and those trying storms that we endure can simply happen. We are regular people living regular lives no matter what our bank accounts say, and because of this we have to remember that life happens.

When we are able to realize that our sense of perfect timing is not actually perfect, and God’s divine timing is essential for our lives we revamp our opportunities and we challenge the way that we see the world.

Allowing life to happen does not mean that we sit back and watch things fall apart but it does mean that things can happen and we are not always in control.

You must learn to accept that things are not going to always happen the way that you want them to. You will not always be in control. There will always be people and circumstances that come about that may not seem to be in line with your vision, and that’s okay.

In every part of your life there’s a reason and a season. In every part of your life, there is a reason for the journey that you’re taking. In every part of your life, there are new mercies and opportunities. In every part of your life, there will be good and bad days. In every part of your life, as long as there’s breath in your body there is an opportunity for better days.

Oh, those dark days can seem so difficult… but remember that last storm that you made it past? Hold strong, allow God’s plan to work itself, it’s okay to be scared. It’s okay to be worried. It’s okay to have moments of anger. It’s okay to have fear about what is coming in the future. It’s okay to be sad at times.

Proverbs 13:12
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Even if you have moments when the rain of your storm blocks your vision, do whatever you can to capture a glimpse of your rainbow.
I say all this to say whenever a storm is raining directly over your head get your rain gear, suit up and be prepared to endure the store. There is a reason that you go through storms and it is not your job to understand the how, the when and the why. It is, however, your job to keep pushing forward no matter what you face.

Allow the good to come and the bad to exit.  Allow change and evolution to occur in your life. Allow people to leave if they want to leave. On the same token, don’t try to force things to stay when really it is time for them to go.

Often times you can’t see the direction that God is going and that’s alright too. As long as you continue to take steps forward, continue climbing, and continue reaching for those stars, you’re on the right path. Try to think deeply: the universe is activating steps and plans for you- imagine what would happen if you continued to block yourself from greatness because of pride or needing to have control over everything.

1 Peter 2:15 “For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.
Not all advice is sound advice. Sometimes advice that comes from people that you “respect” is not the advice that is for you to hear. Use your knowledge, wisdom, and experiences to make sound decisions for your life. Don’t allow what someone else thinks is best for you to overtake your judgment. This may mean if someone says, maybe you should just wait to do something, maybe actually you should be taking steps instead of sitting still.

Sometimes you will have to think outside of the box, and that’s a good thing. No matter what you do, allow life to happen; allow mistakes to occur.

You deserve to lead a life of happiness, success, pure joy, peace, wonder, adventure, and love; these are not things that someone can make you have- you find these things inside of you.

Be blessed and at peace.

Overcoming Fear

©KayLaN.Allen

Your voice is your power. Your story is your wisdom. Your truth is your freedom.
No matter what anyone tells you, those three statements will forever ring true.

The world and time will reveal to you the character and morals of everyone that you encounter or see displayed in the media and in your life.

Your fear of the world and what others will say are essentially figments of your imagination. Your job in life is to follow your passion, not to hide from the world.

Think about a time when you learned something new. Was it easy? Were you scared of what people would say? Were you there standing strong to learn that new thing? Did you hide from the world, never to learn that thing?

Let’s roll the dice of life….ready, set, shake…
Roll 1: You only learn about something from a distance
Roll 2: You learn behind closed doors
Roll 3: You learn only around family
Roll 4: You take a moment to learn about that new thing and how you can become good at it
Roll 5: You learn to the best of your ability but fear the world
Roll 6: You learn, grow, strengthen your mind and abilities, and show the world what you’re made of.

The dice reference can be thought about like this: You can shake it up and take a chance and land on any of those numbers and they all mean different things. All that matters is that you take the chance!

So what if you fall?! So what if you can only take one step at a time?! You are still doing better on your roll 6 by doing everything that you can without fear!

If you speak up and only get your voice and/or story heard by 5 people, that’s more than the mirror and more than your tears. Those people can tell 5 more people and that effect could keep rolling along. Look at how much you can do by just letting go of fear and being open to the world around you.

Deuteronomy 31:8 “He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” God gave you so much more than a mind of fear. You have everything that you need inside of you. Having a fear of the world will only cause fear to live inside of you. Fear is not real. Fight back! Use what you have and all that you are to change your life and bless many others.

Psalms 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid? Those against us will use fear, mockery, and belittlement tactics to break us down. Imagine what we could do if we grew strong enough to overcome that. If someone has caused you to feel this way, it is your mind and your accomplishments that can and will change all of that if you let it happen. God can give you perfect peace. The Universe will work in your favor…what are you putting into your prayers and your visualizations? You can eliminate fear, one step and one lesson at a time.

Grow into who you were called to be.

Be blessed and be at peace.

Overcoming & Eliminating Self-Pity

©KayLaN.Allen

Most of us have been at the root of a problem or situation, but how often do we really take the time to acknowledge faults or words that should not have been spoken?

Even if you feel that you have not been a part of a problem, you have likely witnessed a friend or loved one experience this.

Yes, you surely can take the time to go through a “woe is me” phase. Along with that you can also sit an have a pity party for weeks on end. The real question is will your “woe is me” time or your pity party bring you to an absolute answer that will create a shift in your world? The answer is probably no.

You can’t move forward and go beyond internalizing a problem if you cannot accept your faults and grow from them.

No matter what you face in life, if you feel that you had a place in the breakdown of events then you need to do some reflection. Maybe the fault is on you…maybe not…you need to understand this clearly.

Pitying yourself will only cause a domino effect and a roller coaster of emotions.

Take it step by step. Write it down. Look at what happened and how you may have added to it. Understand your position in the problems that you may face.

To heal and grow, you must take must personal inventory. Do you really know who you are? Do you know how you behave in an argument? Are you an effective communicator? Do you find it easier to avoid and runaway than to face an issue?

You must be able to look inside of yourself and have a real answer to all of these questions. Once you know the answers to these questions only then can you truly see who you are and grow from your mistakes or problems faced.

Think about it this way, could you ever learn how to do something like tie your shoes if at first you were not taught or did not make a mistake? No.

There are elements in life that you must face and self-pity is not one of those things.

If things are not as you may want them to be, stop and go a different direction or try a different option.

To have a happy and healthy life you must dig inside of yourself and spread your wisdom to others; in this you must also be open enough to listen to and understand life lessons taught by others.

2 Timothy 1:7 ” For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.” You must be able to understand what is faced and go through a period of self-evolution. God gave your a brain and He teaches you lessons along your journey through life; it is up to you to be wise enough to take those lessons and use them for your good. You are fully-equipped to be a warrior and a blessing to the world around you, so make the best of every moment and every situation. The Universe is a part of your core being; you can have an be all things that you aspire to have and work diligently to be. God and the Universe are on your side, so choose your thoughts and behavior wisely. Grow up and choose self-esteem over self-pity.

Romans 12:3 “For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.” You are not perfect and if you are facing a problem with someone else, they aren’t perfect either. You need to face what is beyond the mirror and become all that you are called to be.

If you can accept your flaws, you can grow from what may be holding you back. You can become anything/anyone, so suit up, stop weeping, let go of that horrible anger, and put on your armor.

You have all that you need inside of you…don’t be stubborn.

Be blessed and be at peace.

Overcoming Judgment Against You

©KayLaN.Allen

From birth until the end of the human existence, there will always be someone judging you. These people can be your family, friends, supporters, coworkers, significant others, and everyone in between.

The people that judge us are out on a mission, but what that mission is isn’t for us to understand or break apart.

Although judgment can be painful when on the receiving end, how you move beyond it is so much more important.

People can see things and choose to make their own opinions about you without trying to understand the actual meaning of what they see…and that’s perfectly fine.

Your job in all of this is to remember that you are more than what you seem to be to others. You must remember that you are made in God’s image; you are uniquely made and full of beauty and love.

If someone makes you out to be someone that you aren’t, you just need to remain true to yourself.

Like many say ‘let your haters be your motivators’… you can take that pain or disappointment that you feel and use it for something greater. Allow that pain to give you power and a better vision of who you really are. You matter and all that you bring to the world is wonderful and perfect, just as it is.

No matter how loud the roar of negativity from others’ false judgment is, treat it as though it is even louder applause for the amazing person that you are becoming and/or have become.

The universe is in you, the higher power that you believe in (God, in my case) is within you…do you know what that means? No judgment formed based on evil/negativity can be housed within you-unless you let it. You encompass power, strength, love, inner beauty, and so much more.

Romans 8:28
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” You have favor in and on your life: God has granted you so many beautiful things, there is nothing that any negativity can do to you if you believe in the power surrounding you and the positivity in your corner.  Every thing can and will work in your favor if you keep pushing forward and learn from what others’ negativity is presenting to you.

Proverbs 14:7-8
“Stay away from a fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips. The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.” If you allow a person to house your power and your happiness because of what they say and/or feel about your or anything in life, then they win. It is up to you to challenge that negativity in your mind and walk away from the person releases that negativity into your environment.

I encourage you to take a moment to look deeper into who you are and who you are called to be. Remember that there will continue to be evil-doers that seem to seep into your world. You must have strength inside of yourself to oversee it all and not allow it to shake your life.

You overcome this judgment by knowing who you are. You overcome this judgment by remembering that the words from others can be merely a reflection of their own insecurities/issues. You overcome this judgment by becoming even better than what you already are.

If judgement comes your way, simply say this in your mind: Judge me if you must, but know that your thoughts/opinions will not deter my path toward greatness, successes, prosperity, or abundance. I have favor in every aspect of my life and you cannot dim my light.

Let the negativity be blown away by your growth and understanding of who you are called to be.

Overcoming “Hidden” Emotions

©KayLaN.Allen

There are times when we find ourselves silenced, be it because of someone or something. It can be a challenge finding your voice, your place, and your position, however it must be done.

Silence is not always “golden”, in fact it can be the deepest shade of black imaginable. It can take you to an unhealthy place, if it takes over your mind.

Silence can literally shut down your vision.

It can shut down your mind.
It can shut down your power.

The most important thing to do is to realize that everything that you have to say has a meaning.

Do not let anyone tell you that what you have to say does not matter. When you do this you allow them to take away your happiness and power.

Your emotions have this power at multiple levels and they are very important.

How you feel impacts your life. It can be difficult to let these emotions come out when you have learned/taught yourself to hide them. You must find a way to reclaim your life and your emotions.

Sweeping your emotions under the rug or being forced to shove them into a closet is completely unhealthy. A can of soda once shaken will only explode after opened.

To overcome “hidden” emotions, you have to look inside of yourself and understand what they mean. You need to get to the root of your emotions and analyze why you have hidden them.

You deserve to express your emotions and you have a right to feel the way that you do. The way that you express them matters, as well. Pay attention to your delivery when expressing them and be mindful of your words.

Heal those emotions by first understanding, then analyzing them, expressing them in a healthy way, and evolving the way that you think and value yourself.

You matter. You are enough. Your thoughts and emotions are important.

Proverbs 15:33

“A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is crushed.” I am not saying that everyday and everything should be all sunshine, however I am saying it is much healthier and much more productive to be happier and feeling that your emotions, views, and your voice matters. God/Higher Beings/The Universe dwell within you, when things become altered or overshadowed it affects every other part of your life. Clearing away the fog changes everything.

2 Timothy 1:7

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” Your emotions are yours, you should not feel shunned, shut-out, or constrained because of someone else or something. You are a strong person with brilliant ideas, intimate emotions, and unique gifts and talents; learning what they mean, how to handle them and their importance are some of the best gifts that you can ever give yourself.

Know your value and your worth, this is key is overcoming these emotions that you have hidden. Let the light shine in and allow yourself to speak again…it will change your life.

Be blessed and be at peace.

Cholera- Although this is not a prevalent disease in the U.S.,  it is important to think about it as travelers to areas with a cholera epidemic may contract it. This disease still occurs in many places such as Haiti and Southeast Asia. This disease can be prevented and treated.  It is a diarrheal illness and other symptoms may or may not be present, but they can be severe. Approximately 10% of people are infected with Cholera (CDC). Diagnosis is reached via a stool sample. An oral rehydration solution may be the treatment route for Cholera; some require an IV for fluid replacement. Prevention: access to clean water, sanitation, and basic hygiene needs. Be mindful and take good care of yourself. Seek a physician or trusted provider whenever you need to or feel that something isn’t right.

Overcoming Unhealthy Eating

©KayLaN.Allen

We all have our cravings and things that we LOVE to eat, but do we really think about what we are consuming and how they can affect our bodies?

When you indulge (if you must), you must have balance and do so sparingly.

Yes, you can eat what you want, but you cannot do it all the time and expect to lead a healthy life. You cannot eat bread every day, day and expect it to not lead to health issues. As much as you may love your sweets, you cannot have them every day, multiple times a day.

With everything in your life, the only way to be happy and healthy is to have balance.

How To Overcome This Problem:

To overcome healthy eating, know that it starts inside of your mind.
You have to acknowledge where the problems lie before you can think of making next steps.
Make baby steps if you cannot completely change your habits immediately.
Create a schedule for yourself and limit your eating.
Eliminate fatty, greasy, heavy, sugary, processed foods.
Eat more greens, veggies, fruits, and grains.
Drink lots of water every day.

Be mindful of your eating habits.

Healthy eating is not always expensive! Poor healthy is more expensive.

You are not necessarily bound by traditions. We choose to do things including our eating habits.

Just like many other things, treating yourself is okay and you deserve it but think about it first.

Be happy in the skin that you are in, but do whatever it takes to lead a healthy life- your body and your family will thank you for taking care of yourself, setting a good example, and extending your life.

The challenge in this life is to do what is right; the same applies to your life and what you consume. Your family and those that you are blessing are counting on you to live your best life.

You get one body and no tomorrow’s are not guaranteed, but wouldn’t you rather live a healthy life than an unhealthy one?

Love yourself from the inside out and watch how things change.

If you are not prepared to live your best life how do you expect great things to happen in your life?

1 Corinthians 3:16-17

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple”.  You are an amazing part of something beyond your knowledge and your imagination. God made you in his image and you are supposed to take care of yourself; this means inside and out. You one beautiful part of this universe and the universe is inside of you, you must be mindful of this and live a good life.

Proverbs 10:17

“The road to life is a disciplined life; ignore correction and you’re lost for good”. Motivation will not always come easy and you must do what it takes to lead a disciplined life; it is in your best interest. If someone shows you or teaches you something that is good for you, it can only benefit you…

I want you to live a long, happy, healthy life, so do whatever it takes to have that.

Know that you do not need to follow any fads or common diets, and do not starve yourself. Smaller portions and regulated eating schedules will change your life. There are many methods of healthy eating, you have the world at the tips of your fingers; use the sound knowledge that you find on the internet. If you have any true questions, find a nutritionist or health provider that you trust.

All that you want and dream of can happen if you take care of yourself and if you are consistent in all that you do.

I believe in you and I want you to be healthy from the inside out. Put in the work, you deserve it.

Be blessed and be at peace.

Heart Disease- This disease and many others are linked unhealthy eating. There are over 600,000 people that die of heart disease and it is a leading cause of death for men and women. Annually, there are over 700,000 heart attacks in America (CDC). Pay attention to discomfort, shortness of breath, nausea, lightheadedness, and upper body pain. Listen to your body’s signs of heart disease and physical sickness. If you are eating poorly, change it while you still can; it is much easier to prevent than it is to treat. Think wisely. Make the changes that you can, and do whatever you can to create natural healing. As always, seek the help of a physician when you are in need.

Overcoming Abuse

©KayLaN.Allen

This is one that truly hits home for me, as I endured physical and mental abuse in my past. I saw this blog as an opportunity to be completely open and vulnerable with you. I know that you may be experiencing this now, or may be moving beyond that pain and I am going to give you some insight, love, and support during this time.

Feeling pain from physical abuse, mental/emotional abuse, or verbal abuse can hurt and plague your life with stress, anxiety, depression, and countless triggers. I know your pain and I know your feelings, and I want to help you get through it and help you take back your life.

If you are still in an abusive relationship/friendship or in a seemingly abuse work relationship, you need to take inventory on your life.

Abusive Personal Relationships
Intimate: Although a person may say that they did not mean it or it will not happen again, remember that it should not have happened at all. Don’t let them take you out of character or make you change your view of yourself. Remember that you are made in God’s image and you can be anything that you want to be in life; don’t let anyone’s thoughts/behaviors hold you hostage. If someone says that no one else will want you, remember that there are billions of other people in the world and if you were only meant to be with one person you would have been assigned them/physically connected to them at birth. You are handsome/You are beautiful and there are many others who would feel lucky to have someone like you to love because of all that you have to offer (internally) and your wonderful spirit.

People that hurt us with no remorse, do not need to be in our lives. Fight back in whatever way you can to leave; analyze your situation and be prepared to leave safely. Call the police and report it. If you have a friend/family member you can trust have them help you move out. I promise, no matter how much your partner may pull you away from your family/friends someone still cares and loves you.

A person should not speak negatively to you: yelling at you, cursing at you, calling you out of your name, etc. If your significant other is showing you signs of a high temper, uncontrollable anger/behavior, pay attention and know that you cannot change someone who does not see a problem with what they are doing. Even if they say that it is not their normal behavior and they do not know where it came from, know that their words are more than likely not the truth. Anger doesn’t come out of nowhere, nor does abuse. Being under the influence is not an excuse, either. Pay attention and believe what you are shown.

Be mindful of patterns.

Never forget: You did not make them do it.

There are foundations, organizations, shelters, etc. to support you if you need it. If you need help finding one, let me know and I will assist you in every way humanly possible. I care and I want to help you.

Friends
Yes, friends can abuse you. If they make fun of you “jokingly”, use you, only call when they need something, take and never give, etc. they do not need to be in your life. People will only do what they are allowed to do. If your “friend” is only there for selfish reasons, show them the nearest exit. Stand up for yourself and demand what you deserve or leave if it is not within your friendship. Be kind and still pay attention; do not be blinded by history or false sense of friendship.

Work
If your superiors/coworkers are using you for their benefit and do not support you, encourage you, offer you room for growth, etc. you may not belong there. You have to realize that you have special gifts and talents that you can offer the team/business and those gifts have a significant value.

Do not let others misuse you, abuse you, cause you pain, break your spirit, degrade you, attack you, etc.  If either person in a relationship is not wanting to be in the relationship anymore, step away. If problems only get bigger and voices only get louder, it is time to go.

Brokenness can be re-shaped. You must be able to look within yourself and see your value and your worth (yes, the two are different). You have something special about yourself that cannot be taken away from you and that is what you must focus on when overcoming these abusive relationships.

You need to do something with your time that is productive. Get back in school, get a hobby, do volunteer work; do all of these things for yourself. You can heal inside, but it will take time. Yoga, meditation, silent retreats, sound psychological counseling, prayer, support groups, etc. can all be amazingly beneficial things for you to do. You have to do what works for you, and you do not need someone to do these things with you.

The most important thing for you to do after you have gotten away from your abusive past is to not look back. You left for a reason and you faced something that you should have never had to deal with. I know that there may be a lingering feeling trying to remember a piece of good/some happy memories, but I promise you it is not worth revisiting the pain.

You have a strength inside of yourself that you must tap into, and believe me you can do it.

The Universe nor God want you to endure abuse of any sort, so it is time to heal as best as you can.

Psalms 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” You are hurting or you are still hurting, but know that there is a healing unlike any other coming your way. Seek help and pray about your situation. There is a better life/person for you. This wound needs more than a band-aid, this is definitely a surgery type of situation, so do what it takes to overcome and get stronger. God can heal you in a way that no other can; whatever higher power you connect to is with you and cares about you. You can look inside of yourself, gain wisdom/knowledge via teachings, meditation, and yoga to re-train your brain. Whatever way works for you, you need to do it starting right now.

Isaiah 40:29-31
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”  You will heal, with time and faith. It will take effort, simply waiting and believing will not get you out of your situation; you have to muster up the strength and reach inside of yourself to overcome abuse. Once you find that peace and your happiness, never let anyone take it away.

The truth of the matter is that yes you may currently be a victim, but you can become a survivor and a significant blessing with someone else, with new friends (or none at all) or by working elsewhere. You may feel weak right now but take it from a survivor-turned-warrior, you will find your strength.

Remember, you are not alone. I’ll listen to you, cry with you, pray with you, empower you, and help you in any way that I can.

Be blessed and be at peace.

STD’s the prevalence of is increasing with time. Please remember that your body is your own and you have the option to say no and that is good enough; if someone sees a problem with that they can leave and you can tell them you are no longer interested. According to the CDC: there were approximately 2.3 million cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea & syphilis last year (more than 200,000) than the previous year. Get tested regularly, even if you are not in a relationship. There is free help at most community health clinics. Do not be scared to seek help, if you need it. You can experience many horrible symptoms and beyond if you do not get medical help. Protect yourself and others by doing the right thing.
