For every bad thing that you encounter or endured there is something beautiful to be seen or understood.
Lessons learned in life can be so difficult and I could never make light of anything that anyone faces, but I will say that there is a reason for your circumstances.
Whether we are talking about an abusive relationship that you have overcome, an amazing job that you have had your eye on, a love that you lost, or anything in between there is a lesson to be learned from each situation/circumstance.
I know that you have learned and know very well that all that glitters isn’t gold, but do you also know that there are jewels to be discovered and appreciated in your darkest of days and clearest of nights?
Everything that you go through has a meaning, you have to understand that the lesson no matter how difficult it may be to receive is a blessing for you.
I want you to think about these lessons as the jewels in your life. If this means that you have to put on your hypothetical rose colored glasses (only for a moment) to see the positivity in your situation, do it.
Challenge yourself to take a journey through your mind, heart, body, and soul- give your situations, storms, circumstances a “full body scan” so to speak, and think about the why and work without giving up to understand the lesson.
When you wear your favorite accessory or piece of jewelry, you do so because it makes you feel a sense of happiness right? Shouldn’t your life’s lessons give you a sense of happiness after they have been learned?
Think about all of the things that make your life grand, beautiful, and worth living even when your heart is feeling heavy – this is easier said than done, but is very much worth it.
Take note and think about all of the jewels in your life: lessons, peace, happiness, family, kids, friends, education, successes, business, gifts and talents.
To the Bible & Universe We Go!
Proverbs 20:15
“There is gold and abundance of costly stones, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.” You don’t have to own jewels, gems, or stones to understand how gorgeous and precious they are. Your mind, body, and soul are precious jewels. Evolution of your mind is more precious than jewels; your knowledge is your life’s glimmering light.
The Universe gifts you with lessons, experiences, wisdom, knowledge, opportunities, and values to be appreciated. Each of which are grand, beautiful, and a wonderful part of your life. Take the time to understand this and be joyful in it.
Isaiah 62:3
“You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of God.” You are absolutely amazing and truly a jewel; your value and worth are high on the list my dear. Take a hint and work to bless your own life and all of those around you by wearing your jewels that life and God have given you.

Japanese Encephalitis
Symptoms: fever, headache, vomiting, weakness, possibility of movement disorders, and mental status changes.
Prevalence: less than one percent infected with the virus develop clinical illness (CDC) Twenty to thirty percent of those who develop encephalitis die; 30-50% of survivors have continued cognitive, neurologic and psychiatric symptoms.
Prevention: a vaccine is recommended for those traveling to an endemic area and will be there for over a month or a shorter period if someone will be outside of an urban area.
Treatment: symptomatic- includes rest, fluids, pain reliever and fever reducing medication.

E- Executing Personal Elegance

Divinely you were created and brought to this Earth. Divinely things occur and arrive in your life and that of everyone around you. Clearly this means that not only do you have a purpose but there is elegance and grace built into you.
Often the world and the media present false images that many follow and get caught into, but what does that mean for you. You are all that is presented to you, so don’t allow yourself to become something that you aren’t.
You may be surprised by how much things affect you by simply appearing in an image. Just as quickly as you read this blog, your thoughts are immediately deepening and shifting. Since you know that to be true, think about how other things pop up or present themselves online or in your personal life and may cause negative shifts in your thoughts.
You are of elegance, so you have to fight regularly to stay in that light and mentality.
If there is an element of negativity, you need to think twice about letting it stay in your presence.
If something or someone is making you feel like you are unworthy of success, check yourself and look into that mirror again!
If you run into a space in your life where you feel like you aren’t pretty enough or talented enough, check yourself and remember your elegance and uniqueness.
Personal elegance is not determined nor maintained by the standards of others.
Personal elegance is what you make it to be.
Uphold yourself to the highest of standards even when no one looking, so that when you present yourself you radiate light and pure happiness.
Personal elegance can be linked to all that you are. It means appearance, character, successes, happiness, love, peace, accomplishments and so much more.
For all of those images of false “perfection”, know that not all that people present is the truth of who they are from the inside out.
A pretty face, fancy clothes, and luxury living do not equate a happy heart or good character. As you observe the world around you check the meaning and think deeper.
When you wake up, who are you?
When you talk to your friends who are you? What do you display?
When you embrace the presence of your loved ones, who are you?
When you are at work, who are you?
If all of these people are different, you may need to do some re-evaluation. You may not be executing your own personal elegance at the highest level.
Your truth and your elegance should be so apparent that they are presented and connected to your character/all that you are.
Of course there will be negative people speaking against who you are…but let it be. If you are executing your personal elegance you are already being the best and no one can shake that.
Ephesians 2:10
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
No one can tell you or show you who you are. You are in charge of becoming who you were created to be. There are so many wonderful things about you and even more great things that you can do to bless others. Never think that you are less than amazing, because it is simply not true.
Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.”
Think of all of the beautiful things about the world that we live in even when there is darkness presenting itself.
Romans 12:2
“Do not conform to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” There are things far more important than outer appearance or false images of happiness, so be all that you present from the inside-out. Change your thoughts, your family and all that you will bless in your future depending on it.

Overcoming Relationships of Every Sort

Throughout life, we meet and get to know people on many different levels.
The passing of time, change in vision of life, different goals, broken hearts, etc. can all be reasons that these relationship must come to an end.
Making the decision to overcome a relationship can be one of the most difficult things to do. However, this very decision can be one of the best things that you can do for yourself, your family, or your career.
Let’s look a little deeper at intimate relationships, friendships, and career relationships.
Intimate Relationships
When dating (typically at the beginning), many people experience feelings of joy, excitement, butterflies, love, lust, etc., but we must remember that those things don’t always last nor do they have to.
Of course, you should work hard in your relationships and love the one you are with, but if things have gone sour and either of you are experiencing dysfunction or unhealthy behaviors it may be beyond time to cut ties.
You know what you deserve in a relationship and what you need; if your significant other is unwilling to work on those things, don’t you think that maybe you need to rethink the relationship?
Don’t you think that maybe you should be with someone who is willing to put in the effort and build a strong, faithful, and loving relationship with you?
Let me say this: you do not have to stay with someone who cheats on you or mistreats you. You need to get your head on straight and think through your relationship and make the decision to overcome any negativity within it; if that means you need to leave, so be it.
Keep this at the forefront of your mind: staying in a relationship just for the kids will hurt you, your significant other, those God meant for you, and your children (as they will mimic and be susceptible to what you have shown them/allowed them to be a part of). Do the right thing.
Friendship
At various stages of our lives we meet people that we may find a connection with, someone that likes the same things, or someone that we simply have things in common with and they become friends that we hold close to our hearts.
We do things together, talk regularly, and even buy each other gifts. Those relationships are not always meant to travel with you for life, in fact it can be more unhealthy than anything to allow people that do not have the same goals, those without an aim for growth, or someone without the same beliefs as you.
Proverbs 18:24
“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” A friend is a blessing, but sometimes you have to let them go so that you can grow and find your happiness. One of the greatest friends and the most dependable friend can be found in God.
Friendship is a beautiful thing, but sometimes those relationships are only for a season; you learn the lesson then it’s time to move forward. You must be willing to see through the memories, time spent, etc. and realize that growth and change are mandatory in life…even when it comes to friends. Overcome that relationship by realizing the value in it and remembering that your journey through life and your success do not require everyone that you encounter and/or befriend.
Career Relationships
A brand new job comes up and we get excited about it look forward to everything that we will do, etc. Over time, you may get bored, want more money, gain a degree, or get tired of the commute, etc. and that is perfectly fine. There are many people that stick to one job or one career for their entire life and that is okay, but that does not have to be the case.
If you are feeling stuck or unfulfilled and there is no room for growth, perhaps you need to overcome that career relationship. You need a challenge, you need to feel that you are making a difference and that you are being appreciated; if that is not how you feel you need to be appreciative of what you have learned and the opportunity and redirect your life.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1 & 5
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.” Knowing the value of any relationship (family included) is important, but it is equally important to recognize if someone/something is causing you to feel truly unhappy. If there is no way to mend it or the person is intentionally causing you emotional pain, you need to overcome that relationship.
It can hurt to leave people behind, but wouldn’t you rather forgive, try to mend, and overcome if it is necessary. You deserve to be happy within yourself; few things/people can give you that except God, looking into your soul, acknowledging what the Universe is blessing you with, and you.

***Health Spotlight***
There have been over 100 measles cases and 8 outbreaks of the measles in the U.S. this year(CDC). The majority of people with measles contract it because they are not vaccinated. Physical symptoms may appear in about 10-14 days after exposure, but people are contagious after 4 days with the virus. Fever is the early symptom of the measles, they can reach up to 105 F; this is accompanied by malaise, cough, and conjunctivitis. The rash spreads from the head-down (CDC). High risk people are infants, adults over 20, pregnant women, and those with compromised immune systems. Airborne spread and droplets are the methods of transmission; it can remain in the air for two hours. There is no antiviral treatment, but medical care is necessary; hospitalization is hospital. As always, if you suspect an illness seek medical attention.

Where is your heart and love for your fellow man? Do you know that with one word or one smile you can insight growth/change?
Xenodochial, not a common word for the every day vocabulary simply means being friendly to strangers.
How many times have you been wrapped up in your own little world and walked right past someone who may have been smiling at you or may have said something kind to you? I know that I have a few times, and it can make the giver/receiver feel horrible inside.
How many times have you said “Good morning”, given a compliment or said “Have a nice day” to someone with no response given back? I bet it’s more than a few times.
First off, don’t automatically expect someone to be kind to you; if you do, you will set yourself up for disappointment.
What I want you to do is realize your place in this world, all of your experiences, and all that you have to offer. You need to be concerned with your behavior, even to strangers.
You may be that person whose smile will save a life. You may be that person that is very kind to someone on the elevator and a few minutes later find out that very person is the CEO of the company you are being interviewed at. You may be that person lightens up someone’s day every time you go to the store, salon, etc. just because you bring your radiated light and kindness in with you. You may be the person that a little girl/boy thinks they look like and they admire you. All of these things and more could be inside of you.
Be xenodochial, it is very easy.
Even if someone is not so kind to you, you can pay them back with a friendly word or kind gesture. God sees all that you do and all that is inside of your heart. Your friendliness can be the blessing that someone needs, you never know.
Now, do not go around thinking that you are the king/queen of the world and all must bow down to you and treat you like royalty.
Do not allow someone to intentionally treat you poorly, either.
You have power, love, light, beauty, kindness, and joy inside of you why shouldn’t you share it with the world?
Think about it like this, for every year of your life you have learned at least one thing. From these lessons, trials, storms, and moments of happiness you have evolved.
Be mindful that some stranger, somewhere in the world needs you. They may need you to learn how to grow, evolve, become educated, leave an unhealthy relationship, prepare for the working world, become more spiritual, become in-tune with themselves/God/Universe.
You learn for a reason. If you are learning and you have something to offer the world, do it.
Being kind to a stranger is a great place to start spreading joy and light.
There are days when you may feel full of sadness, anger, confusion, etc. but know that still you must stand strong and keep your faith…someone needs you.
1 Peter 3:8-9
“…you must all have the same attitude and the same feelings; love one another, and be kind and humble with one another. Do not pay back evil with evil or cursing with cursing; instead, pay back with a blessing, because a blessing is what God promised to give you when he called you.”
—-Do not take it personally if someone is unkind to you, just do your part and be friendly to everyone around you. God has embedded you with love…give it back to the world. The Universe holds love as the foundation of all things, it is your job to build from it a life and world of love and blessings.
1 John 4:6-8
“We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception. Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.…”
—-You were not put on this Earth to do things solely for yourself. You are a being of love and created by love. It is your job to spread love. What is one the most beautiful and pure ways to love? Friendship. Friendship starts by being friendly, caring for someone, and offering light. You start off as strangers to one another and through heart-to-heart connection you bless the world and generate love.
Be xenodochial (friendly to strangers), not just with your words but with all of your actions. You never know, there may be someone who needs you in one moment or that very person could be an angel.
Take advantage of every moment and do good things.

***Health Spotlight***
XDR TB (Extensively Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis)- According to the CDC, this is a rare form of TB that is caused by an organism that is resistant to the two most potent TB drugs. This type of TB is spread just as Drug-susceptible TB is spread; bacteria is spread via the air when a person coughs, sneezes, shouts, or sings. A person who is not properly taking their TB medication can also develop XDR TB (WHO). The bacteria can remain in the air for hours and when someone inhales the TB bacteria-infected air they can become infected. Those who are immuno-compromised are at a higher risk of infection than those who are healthy. Education and medical support are important in prevention of this disease. Practice good hygiene. As always, if you feel like something is wrong with your body seek the care of a physician. Practice good hygiene
P-Passion
What is passion? How are you using it?
Passion- “a strong and barely controllable emotion”; “a thing arousing enthusiasm”, “an intense desire or enthusiasm for something”.
Sure passion could also be linked to love. Maybe you are experiencing real love in that manner, and if you are I am so happy for you. If you are not, and you are waiting for it, be sure to be working on yourself so that when the time comes you will be ready and vulnerable enough for it. You deserve that type of passion, love, and happiness and so much more.
What I want to truly focus on is a passion within yourself. Let’s start with this:
As a child what did you want to be? What was your dream job? A doctor? Lawyer? Actor? Musician? Educator? President? Firefighter? Prima ballerina? …
When you became a teenager, what was your dream mission? To change the world? Make a difference? Give people in developing nations clean water? Become an activist?…
Now that you are an adult, are still you working towards a dream job or just something that will pay the bills?
What would have happened if you stuck to any of those dreams/ambitions? Would you be who you are today or would you be something great? Would you be living in your purpose?
Where is your passion? Do you really think that there is nothing beyond where you are now?
You must realize that the world will continue to spin, people will continue to make a difference, and that there is a need for your gifts and talents. That passion, that fire within you, is still there…you may have taught yourself to dim it or ignore it because you don’t think that you can get out of the place that you are in…but guess what that gives you…the same outcome or worse.
You may not understand it right now or someone may have told you otherwise, but your passion and dreams are unlike anyone else’s . You are a unique puzzle piece in the world and the world needs what you have to offer. If something inside of you is telling you to go for that goal, who are you to deny yourself that?
Don’t you deserve greatness? Don’t you deserve to fulfill your dreams?
God and/or the universe are shifting things and rearranging things so that you can have what you want/desire. Follow your passion and let nothing shake you.
You don’t have to conform to the ways of the world or change your goals because of your tough circumstances. When there is a strong will, a person can do absolutely anything; adding real passion to it further blesses the path that person walks on.
Psalms 40:2
“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”
You can get out of tough spot; you can change your life. Intertwine your passion and your mind and make your dreams come true. Your passion is the fuel to the flame. If you need help, ask…the options and the opportunities are endless.
A door shut in your face does not mean the world is ending, it means you need to find another entrance and remember the importance of your passion.
Who you are will change someone’s life, stop denying yourself opportunities to bless someone else. Anytime you see an obstacle coming, ignite that flame of passion and be ready to duck, dodge, climb, run faster, crawl, and jump, whatever it takes! Obstacles are not in place to block you, but to make you stronger, and to remind you that your passion is at a much higher magnitude if only you keep it at the forefront of your mind.
Proverbs 21:5
“Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.”
One more thing and I’ll leave you to your thoughts…what if the world was never granted the blessing/opportunity to see and be a part of the effect that many great dreamers brought to the world? What if the world’s greatest leaders, musicians, physicians, etc. didn’t follow their passion? Where would we be? Where will you leave the world, if you do not keep follow your passion?
**Health Spotlight**
Take the time to have passion about life, and encourage yourself, your friends, and your family to be aware of the things done and consumed. Being passionate works from the inside out. You can and will lengthen your life by taking better care of yourself. You need it and your family needs you. Visit the CDC website and teach yourself about these: pneumonia, prostate cancer, and pulmonary hypertension; you may save a life.

M- Manifest (Move Forward)
In the adjective form the word manifest means “clear or obvious to the eye or mind.”
The question that you must ask yourself and know the answer to is: “what do I want in my life?” Do you know the answer to that question? If you do not, it is certainly time to embrace a few moments of silence and put that answer on paper. If you can not take the time to ask yourself serious questions you will certainly not have the time to make your dreams a reality. You must be willing to make sacrifices, cry those tears, stay up late, wake up early, heal yourself internally and ensure that you are happy and consistently living in your purpose.
“Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?”
“For the waywardness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them.”
Your mental health is a prominent key to your future successes. Are you leading a mindful, merry, life? If you aren’t what in the world are you waiting for? Make the changes, manifest it! You are always in charge.
A- Alpha (Addressing The Beginning)
For those who may be going through a tough time, illness, or
in bereavement this first post of motivation is for you.
To become stronger than you are, make changes in your life, or grow into who you are called to be you must first take inventory; everything happened for a reason, it is time to look a bit deeper into those reasons, from the beginning/root of it all.
God is a god of miracles, provision, new mercies, of support,
love, compassion, favor and deliverance. No matter how tough your situation may
be, know that God will carry you through ANY storm. You need only to trust him. The universe is in tune with your needs.
Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not
be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will
uphold you with my righteous right hand”
For those who may not believe in God, know that all things
work if you put your energy into the proper place. Things that you speak out
into the universe come to fruition. Difficult times do not last. Time and
change are inevitable, along with many things like growth and death. We cannot
change the way that things happen after we make a decision, but we can change
our outlook.
Challenge yourself to seek guidance from those with wisdom.
Feel that you are able to overcome anything; grow not Annoyed or Aggravated,
because although you may not be Able to see the sun during your storm a rainbow
is soon to come and you will see the light again.
***Health Spotlight***
Amebiasis: A disease caused by a parasite (E. histolytica). It is most common in areas where there is poor sanitation and in tropical areas; it is also more common in homosexual men. Coming in contact with food or water that is contamination by human feces from someone with an infection from E. histolytica; people can also directly swallow the eggs from the parasite from via contaminated surfaces or fingers (CDC). Symptoms include: loose stool and abdominal pain/cramping; symptoms present themselves in about 2-4 weeks. Diagnosis can be difficult as the parasite can look very similar to others, but blood tests can be recommended by a physician. Although people do not always become sick because of the infection, treatment and medications/antibiotics are available; only about 10-20% of people infected with the parasite become sick (CDC). Practice good hygiene to prevent spreading the infection. If you feel like something is wrong or or if your body is sending you signals, please seek a physician or healthcare provider. Healthy living starts inside.
